Editorial Services

Writing is never easy. Sometimes it’s hard to see the wood for the trees. Sometimes we lose track of plot points, find ourselves repeating phrases, need help restructuring ideas. Sometimes, there are simply typos. As an editor, my job is to fix these things, but also to hear an author’s voice and make it stronger. From copy-editing manuscripts to checking final proofs, whether for debut writers, corporate clients or well-established authors, I work always with sharp eyes and an open, listening ear.

Copy-editing.

Line editing.

Proofreading.

I have several years’ experience working as a freelance copy-editor and proofreader for some of the UK’s biggest publishing houses, as well as a number of independent presses and individual clients. I work across fiction and non-fiction titles, from literary novels to celebrity memoir, YA fantasy to popular science. I also edit scripts for graphic novels and documentary films.

Manuscript assessment.

Multilingual editing.

I can offer feedback and structural editing on full manuscripts and works in progress, as well as on shorter or non-literary texts, from essays to proposals. Rates are calculated on a project-by-project basis.

For clients working between two languages, I have experience in post-editing. I can also offer feedback and side-by-side editing of German–English texts.

Workshops &

masterclasses.

Written words make up the bulk of my days, but I also love working with people. I’m available to design and lead workshops and masterclasses on all kinds of editing – from the specifics of structure to nuts-and-bolts copy-editing, or simply a general introduction. My aim is always to show that editing is a collaborative process and far less scary than it might seem.
